What a fantastic experience made easy with IBT, tour guides didn’t let me down with rides, support local knowledge and all aspects of the tour. Highly recommended and I will rebook my next tour with the team for 2027! Thanks guys.
Until you’ve stood in front of the Italian Alps, it’s impossible to truly understand the scale and beauty of the mountains that define northern Italy. Their jagged peaks, endless valleys, and legendary switchbacks have a magic of their own - and we want you to experience it up close.
Join us for an unforgettable cycling tour through the heart of the Alps, where we’ll ride the most iconic climbs in Europe - including the world-famous Stelvio Pass. Whether you want to ride Stelvio for the first time, take on a new bike challenge, or discover hidden roads known only to locals, this journey blends epic ascents with quiet, breathtaking routes far from the crowds.
Our team supports you every step of the way, on and off the bike, so all you have to do is focus on the ride: the rhythm of the climb, the fresh mountain air, and the incredible views that make cycling in the Alps such a life-changing experience.

I recently had the great pleasure of doing ITBs Grand Alps Cycling Tour. Ivan, Jack and Luca from ITB were first class in the way they looked after us both on and off the bike. Great riding, great accommodation and great food!! I highly recommend ITB!!
Thank you for a memorable week in the Alps & Dolomites! Our team was top tier with handling logistics, ensuring our bikes were ready for rides, and supporting us as guides alongside us and in service vans. If you're looking for beautiful views, challenging rides, and making personal connections within your group, this is the tour for you. A huge shout out to Erica, John, Ivan, Nico, Lorenzo, and Andreas for taking great care of us and making the trip phenomenal.
This is without a doubt the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve traveled the world and ridden my bike in a lot of cool places but nothing comes close to what Italy Bike Tours brought me. From the minute you get picked up to the minute you get dropped off everything is handled. I brought my own bike and they built it, bled my brakes, and had it clean and ready to go every morning. A lot of people in my group rented bikes and they were in perfect condition.
We had an amazing trip on the Best of the Alps and Dolomites tour with Italy Bike Tours! The climbs were epic and our guides (Christian, Nikolai & Lorenzo) bent over backwards to make it a perfect trip - they took great care of our bikes, supported and encouraged us on all the rides, and generally made a very challenging trip into a fun adventure that we will always remember. I highly recommend this company (and our guides) and I hope to join them for another trip very soon!

After leaving the beautiful city at the heart of Lombardia, we ride the iconic roads of “The Race of the Falling Leaves” (Giro di Lombardia). The first climb takes us up Colle Gallo, with stunning views of Lago d’Endine and Montecampione, made famous by Marco Pantani during the 1998 Giro d’Italia.
After circling Lago d’Endine, another challenge awaits as you climb Solto Collina toward the shores of Lago d’Iseo, Italy’s sixth largest lake. A stop here for a coffee by the lake is a must - the perfect reward for your efforts.
The final 25 km of the day follow the lakeside, weaving along dramatic cliffs and offering spectacular scenery at every turn. It’s a truly magical way to end your first day on the bike.

Day two starts with a flat 25 km ride along the River Oglio before a steady climb to Edolo, where Italy’s local charm and coffee culture shine.
Upon entering Edolo, we’ll turn right under a centuries-old bridge and continue along the final 30 km of the day. We’ll pass the base of the legendary Mortirolo before reaching the ski resort of Ponte di Legno - a key gateway for Alpine cycling and the perfect spot to rest before tackling tomorrow’s epic climbs.

Every cyclist has a favourite climb - for us at Italy Bike Tours, it’s Passo Gavia. Whether bathed in sunshine or flanked by snow, it never fails to inspire.
After a hearty breakfast, you can loosen your legs on a short spin before reaching the base of the Gavia. The first kilometres wind gently through the valley, but the final third brings narrower roads, sharper hairpins, and breathtaking views.
At the summit, you join an elite group who have conquered one of Europe’s most iconic climbs - photo at the Gavia sign and a warming hot chocolate are a must before descending into Bormio and Valdidentro.

If yesterday challenged you, today is the ultimate test: the legendary Passo Stelvio. At 2670 m with 48 switchbacks, this 22 km climb is one of the most iconic in world cycling.
By now your legs should be ready for the challenge, but pacing and proper fueling are essential. Our team will be on hand to offer advice, assist you with water bottles, and help manage your gear - it’s not a day to carry extra weight!
The descent demands focus, but don’t forget to stop along the way for photos that capture the thrill and spectacular views of this mythical climb.

The day begins with a downhill ride through charming towns before reaching the base of the legendary Mortirolo. Described by Lance Armstrong as the hardest climb in world cycling, the Mortirolo is not for the faint-hearted: 12 km at an average gradient of 12%.
Even after the climb, the top offers a challenging ride along the ridge with spectacular views of Switzerland.
A fast descent into Aprica follows, where the irresistible aroma of coffee and local cuisine awaits those who have conquered three epic climbs in just three days.
Hotel Serenella | Aprica
78 km | 2080 m
This morning begins with a descent from Aprica to Edolo - the easy part of the day done! We then ride through Malonno before starting our first climb of the day to Passo Vivione, a car-free mountain route that feels pure magic as the light shifts from forest to high alpine scenery.
At the summit, we pause for lunch before tackling the week’s final climb, Passo Presolana. Though only 8 km, the last 3 km are epic - a perfect finale!
The descent into Clusone is a joy, and this evening we celebrate with dinner together in the heart of the town centre.

The roads in the Alps are generally in excellent condition, especially on the major mountain passes. Traffic is usually light - drivers in the region are used to sharing the road with cyclists and are typically respectful. |

Expect rich, comforting dishes made with local ingredients like mountain cheeses, cured meats, mushrooms, polenta, and fresh pasta. A must-try? Canederli – bread dumplings with speck or cheese, the classic sweet apple strudel, and pizzoccheri – buckwheat pasta with potatoes, cabbage, and melted cheese. |
