Ride Italy’s iconic climbs and hidden passes, paired with world-class hotels and warm Italian hospitality. This is the cycling challenge of a lifetime.

The Alps and Dolomites are among Europe’s top destinations for cycling enthusiasts. Nowhere else combines such breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and legendary climbs. Located in Northern Italy, these two distinct mountain ranges - the dramatic Dolomites and the towering Alps - offer the ultimate backdrop for a world-class alpine cycling tour.

From iconic ascents like Stelvio Pass and Passo Giau to hidden alpine roads and the unforgettable Sellaronda bike route, every ride delivers epic views and serious rewards. Whether you're biking to conquer famous climbs or simply soaking in the alpine scenery, the experience is as diverse as the landscape itself.

Thanks to their proximity to Austria and Switzerland, cycling here also means encountering a rich blend of languages, traditions, and architecture. With charming mountain villages, regional cuisine, and exceptional hospitality throughout, this is more than a cycling tour - it’s a cultural journey on two wheels.

If you're looking for the cycling experience of a lifetime, the Alps and Dolomites are exactly where you want to be.

Not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best experiences of my life. Our guides and crew took all the thought and planning out of going on a ride, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience. From having our bikes prepped everyday with air in the tires to ensuring we were hydrated with the support vans always stopping where we needed them along the climbs for water and food, this trip was so seamless and allowed us to focus on the important things—seeing a beautiful place, challenging ourselves physically, and making new connections with our fellow riders. Not to mention they put us up in beautiful hotels and took us to some incredible restaurants. We had the absolute joy of joining the legendary Pink Pony Club—Marco, Lorenzo and Simone—who went above and beyond at every step. Their knowledge of the routes, attention to detail and ability to adapt each ride to our pace and interests was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed the best of Dolomite and Alps classic climbs. This trip was on my bucket list and it exceeded my expectations. Christian, Nikolai, and Lorenzo were fabulous guides. Supportive, knowledgeable, patient, and all had a wonderful sense of humour. Overall top marks for professionalism. I highly recommend Italy Bike Tours. I will definitely be back to do another trip. Thank you for making my 60th birthday wish come true!

If you're looking for beautiful views, challenging rides, and making personal connections within your group, this is the tour for you. This is without a doubt the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve traveled the world and ridden my bike in a lot of cool places, but nothing comes close to what Italy Bike Tours brought me. From the minute you get picked up to the minute you get dropped off everything is handled. I brought my own bike and they built it, bled my brakes, and had it clean and ready to go every morning. A lot of people in my group rented bikes and they were in perfect condition.

Christian, Nikolai & Lorenzo took great care of our bikes, supported and encouraged us on all the rides, and generally made a very challenging trip into a fun adventure that we will always remember. Italy Bike Tours – Alps & Dolomites Itinerary

Day
by day.

Ten unforgettable days through the Alps and Dolomites — combining legendary climbs, spectacular mountain scenery, recovery rides and time to enjoy Canazei and Bormio.

Your Alps and Dolomites cycling tour begins at the train station, where our friendly team will welcome you and transfer you north to our hotel in Canazei.

Upon arrival, our expert staff will assist with bike setup - whether you bring your own or rent one from us.

Your first ride is a gentle 34 km loop south toward Moena, featuring mostly flat terrain perfect for warming up while enjoying spectacular Alpine scenery. You'll pedal along one of Europe’s finest cycle paths, making it an ideal introduction to the region.

Hotel Andreas | Canazei

There’s nothing like waking up to breathtaking views over the Dolomites - the calm majesty and rugged beauty of these iconic peaks is truly unforgettable.

After breakfast, we tackle our first climb of the tour: Passo Pordoi, a 10 km ascent averaging 8%, followed by a thrilling descent into Arabba.

From there, the epic Fedaia Pass awaits, featuring one of the Dolomites’ most stunning highlights - the Marmolada glacier. Take time to capture photos and soak in the awe-inspiring glacier views at the summit. Tonight, enjoy a special dinner at our newly discovered favorite local restaurant.

Hotel Andreas | Canazei

Few climbs are as stunning and rewarding as Passo Giau, one of the true icons of cycling in the Dolomites. Today’s ride begins with a short transfer north from Canazei to Arabba, where postcard-perfect scenery and world-class roads await.

After a scenic 20 km warm-up through the valley, you'll take on the legendary Passo Giau climb from its classic side - a challenging ascent with unforgettable views. The thrilling descent into Cortina d’Ampezzo is among the finest in the region.

To end the day, you'll ride the Falzarego Pass from its easier side before returning to Canazei to relax or explore the town at your leisure.

Hotel Andreas | Canazei

Another unforgettable day of our tour awaits as you take on the legendary Sella Ronda - a world-famous loop that’s a true paradise for cyclists of all levels.

Of all the rides we offer, none matches the unique blend of beauty and challenge found on this iconic route. You'll begin with Passo Pordoi and end with the seemingly endless Campolongo Pass, with every kilometre either climbing or descending - there’s virtually no flat! What makes Sella Ronda cycling so special are the manageable gradients, paired with jaw-dropping scenery at every turn. This is a ride that will stay with you for years to come.

Hotel Andreas | Canazei

After two epic days in the saddle, today offers a more tranquil but equally scenic ride. You'll head south through Val di Fassa before turning toward the stunning Lago di Carezza—one of the most picturesque lakes in the Dolomites.

Framed by Alpine trees, towering peaks, and crystal-clear blue waters, it's the perfect spot to pause, take photos, and soak in the beauty of the region. This relaxed ride offers a chance to recover while still experiencing the magic of the mountains.

For your final evening in Canazei, we’ll recommend a local restaurant to celebrate the week’s incredible journey.

Hotel Andreas | Canazei

Sadly, it's time to say farewell to the Dolomites, but the adventure continues as we transfer you to the base of one of Europe’s most legendary climbs - Passo Stelvio.

After a gentle warm-up ride, you'll begin the iconic ascent from Prato, winding your way up 48 unforgettable hairpin bends. The final 5 km offers some of the most dramatic and photographed cycling in the Alps.

Our support team will be ready to capture the moment as you reach the summit, where you can celebrate with a well-earned hot chocolate or sandwich. From there, we descend to your next stop: the beautiful Hotel Alu, where dinner awaits in the hotel’s restaurant.

Hotel Alù | Bormio

Even the pros take a recovery day during the grand tours, and today is your chance to do the same. Enjoy a relaxed ride along the scenic Valtellina cycle path, the perfect opportunity to rest your legs, soak in the alpine beauty, and recharge for the days ahead.

With plenty of spots for coffee, photos, and sharing stories with fellow riders, it’s a laid-back stage that still delivers unforgettable moments.

Tonight, we’ll recommend a local restaurant in the heart of Bormio, and you’ll have time to explore the town and treat yourself to some famous Italian gelato.

Hotel Alù | Bormio

The Queen Stage of the tour! Today’s ride is nothing short of legendary. From Bormio, we will start riding to conquer Passo Gavia.

Unlike the wide, well-paved Stelvio, the Gavia offers a narrower, rougher road that adds to its mystique and magic. The long, sweeping descent back to the hotel is your reward for completing one of the most demanding and iconic rides in the Alps.

Hotel Alù | Bormio

Your final ride of this epic cycling holiday is a magical ascent to Laghi di Cancano, a hidden gem in the Italian Alps featured in the Giro d’Italia. The climb is peaceful yet spectacular, with breathtaking views from the top of the dam - a perfect place to pause and take in the beauty of the landscape.

For those looking to add an extra challenge, the legendary Passo del Mortirolo awaits! The final program will be confirmed with the tour manager the day before.

After some well-earned relaxation back at the hotel, a final celebratory dinner awaits - the perfect end to an unforgettable week of cycling, challenge, and adventure.

Hotel Alù | Bormio

All good things must come to an end, and sadly it’s time to say goodbye - for now!

Our friendly team is here to help you plan your onward travel and make sure everything goes smoothly. We’ve arranged a morning transfer to Milano Centrale Train Station to get you on your way easily. We can’t wait to see you again for your next amazing cycling adventure!

Expect rich, comforting dishes made with local ingredients like mountain cheeses, cured meats, mushrooms, polenta, and fresh pasta. Must-try dishes include canederli (bread dumplings with speck or cheese), apple strudel, and pizzoccheri — buckwheat pasta with potatoes, cabbage, and melted cheese.

The hotels on this tour have wellness centres, and we recommend bringing swimming costumes. They also have laundry service, good WiFi, and bar service. Some hotels may charge extra to use these facilities.
