I don’t always enjoy group tours but I would do this tour over and over again with the IBT team. If you enjoy biking or cycling at any level or love the Giro d’Italia grand tour, it is a must experience event with the IBT team.
Had an amazing experience doing the Giro week 2 cycling tour. Couldn't have a more supportive group of guides and support staff. The rides were adjusted for the level of our group and there were options on some of the days to make them longer if you desired. Support vans were always available. The hotels and restaurants were well chosen and lovely and our Giro d'Italia experience was just incredible. Fausto, Erika, Pavel, David and Lorenzo all deserve a raise! 🥂🚴♀️🇮🇹
Wow - we just completed an unforgettable week with Italy Bike Tours week 2 of Giro D’ Italia. Our tour guide Fausto and the entire team provided incredible experience. Every detail, from the bike rentals to the finer touches of the route and selecting dinner places—was thoughtfully planned and executed, making the trip seamless and truly enjoyable. We had 3-4 guides on every bike trip for a group of 15, and they made the rides safe, enjoyable and fun. Provided clear direction and coaches us when it got challenging. Erica, Pavel, Lorenzo and Davide went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and supported us with whatever we needed. Everything from wine tasting expertise to fixing my flat tire.
I don’t know where to start because this bike tour for the Giro d’italia 2nd stage was unbelievable amazing! After a morning ride on the Giro’s final kilometers, in the afternoon you can live the city with the giro’s emotions: fans gather along the streets, the noise grows, helicopters pass overhead, and the anticipation builds. You position yourself along the final stretch of the course, and then the magic happens: the explosive speed of the peloton, the tactical chaos, the roar of the crowd, and the drama of the final sprint.

Explore the Norman-Swabian Castle in Cosenza, a historic fortress dating back to the 11th century. Discover its ancient walls, towers, and panoramic views over the city and surrounding hills.

After the stage, a private transfer will take you to Maiori on the Amalfi Coast.

Today the Giro heads into the mountains - and so do you.
A transfer takes you to the foot of the climb that leads to Roccaraso, one of the symbolic ascents of the Apennines. The ride unfolds through forests, high plateaus, and peaceful mountain scenery - a true taste of Giro mountain-stage spirit.
At the top, the landscape opens wide and the satisfaction of the climb will be paid by the pass of the pros in the first mountain stage of the Giro. After that, transfer to the Adriatic coast, in Ortona.

After witnessing the exciting official start, you get back on your bike for a beautiful return ride along the Adriatic coastline, enjoying beach views, rolling roads, and a perfect rhythm to close the day.
A traditional dinner will be the best way to finish a week full of emotions.

The general road conditions in Italy are very good, mostly are quiet with less traffic. The majority of roads are tarmac but we will also be riding on some gravel roads - they are in good condition and can be enjoyed on both a road, gravel or E-Bike. |

The food in Calabria, Campania and Abruzzo is exceptional. Expect to savor regional specialties such as hearty dishes like ’nduja from Calabria - a spicy spreadable pork sausage perfect on bread or mixed into pasta sauces and arrosticini from Abruzzo - skewers of lamb grilled over coals, a true local classic. In Campania you’ll enjoy iconic dishes such as pizza napoletana and buffalo mozzarella, the backbone of the region’s cuisine. |
