What an amazing experience in such a beautiful location! Pavel K introduced me to the joy of cycling around Lake Iseo and the surrounding valleys, including a few summits like Passo Gavia and Monte Isola. We also visited a local coffee roaster, wineries, and enjoyed great food. I learned a lot about cycling from Pavel and the team. See you next year. Highly recommend ItalyBikeTours!

Discover Emilia-Romagna day by day, from the Adriatic coast and the Comacchio Valleys to medieval hilltop towns, local cuisine and the peaceful Val Marecchia.

On arrival at the airport, our friendly team will welcome you and transfer you to our hotel in Milano Marittima, perched on the stunning Emilia-Romagna coast. Right by the seafront, it’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and get ready for your cycling adventure.

For those hiring bikes, we’ll handle the fit and any adjustments - pedals, lights, saddles, all taken care of. Before dinner, enjoy a short welcome ride to stretch your legs.

Dinner will follow at the hotel, featuring the finest local specialties from Emilia-Romagna.

Hotel Saraceno Resort | Milano Marittima

The day starts with a short van transfer from Milano Marittima to the breathtaking Comacchio Valleys, home to one of Italy’s most scenic cycling paths. Ride along trails surrounded by shimmering waters, and if you’re lucky, you may spot flamingos in their natural habitat.

We’ll pause for a traditional lunch by one of the charming canals, savoring the unique flavors of this lagoon region. After returning to the hotel, the day concludes with a shared dinner by the sea at one of the area’s finest local restaurants.

Hotel Saraceno Resort | Milano Marittima

Today’s ride is relatively short but full of variety and charm. Starting from the hotel, we’ll pedal through Faenza, the city of ceramics, where craft shops and artisan studios line the streets. Soon after, we’ll enter the tranquil Romagna hills, winding through the “Chalk Vein Park” with a few gentle climbs rewarded by stunning panoramic views.

Our route continues to Forlì, a city rich in history and character. Highlights include Piazza Aurelio Saffi, the medieval walls, and elegant historic palaces. Take time to explore and soak up the authentic local atmosphere before returning to the hotel for a well-earned rest after a memorable day on the bike.

Hotel Saraceno Resort | Milano Marittima

Before we ride, admire Rimini’s Roman treasures, including the Tiberius Bridge—hometown of film legend Federico Fellini. A short ride brings us to Sant’Arcangelo, a medieval hilltop village with fascinating tufa caves.

We continue to Verucchio, famed for its art and wine, where a hands-on pasta-making class lets you create and savor authentic Italian dishes - a perfect blend of cycling, history, and cuisine.

Hotel Oste del Castello | Verucchio

After a breakfast of local, km-zero delights, we’ll set off from Verucchio, pedaling through the rolling Romagna hills and peaceful countryside.

Our route leads to San Leo, where its magnificent castle offers the perfect spot for a group photo and stunning views. Continuing to Novafeltria, we’ll pause for a delicious lunch, savoring the essence of Italy—charming villages, gentle hills, and breathtaking panoramas.

The day concludes with dinner in picturesque San Marino, where you can stroll and soak in 360-degree views from the sea to the Apennines.

Hotel Oste del Castello | Verucchio

On the last morning, we’ll rise at dawn for a gentle ride along the scenic Val Marecchia cycle path—just enough to stretch our legs and awaken after a week of cycling. Enjoy the peaceful early light and take in the valley’s stunning views one last time.

Back at the hotel, enjoy a final breakfast and a refreshing shower before our guides see you safely to the airport, leaving you with memories of Italy’s stunning landscapes and cycling adventures.

The general road conditions in Emilia-Romagna are good, mostly quiet with less traffic. The majority of roads are tarmac but we will also be riding on some gravel roads - they are in good condition and can be enjoyed on a road, gravel or E-Bike.

The food, as one may expect in Emilia-Romagna, is excellent - some might say the best in Italy. There are a lot of local specialities that you can look forward to enjoying. Restaurants now cater for both vegan and vegetarians. Homemade local wines and beer are a must to try.

The hotels on this tour have a pool so we recommend bringing swimming costumes. The hotels also have good Wi-Fi and bar service. All our hotels have air conditioning. Hotels may charge extra for the use of these facilities.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss with you a private tour should you be in a group of more than six people. The private tour allows you to choose dates and personalise the itinerary according to your requirements.

Absolutely. Non-riding partners are always very welcome on our tours. We offer dedicated non-rider experiences, allowing them to enjoy the destination in their own way while you’re out on the bike. Get in touch with our team to discover the non-rider options available for your chosen tour.
