Stages of your Tour

Benvenuto
24 km, 380m climb.
On arrival at Pisa or Florence airport our friendly team will be in place to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. On arrival you will have time to unpack, relax and tweak bikes (with the support of our staff) before heading out on a customary spin around the local area to test legs, bikes and the white road! Dinner will be served in nearby ristorante. Marco and his team are in the kitchen using local produced ingredients in time honoured tradition that involves more than a little passion.

CHIANTI LOOP
52km, 840m CLIMB
This morning we will enjoy a beautiful ride through the very heart of the world famous Chianti hills. Picture perfect riding along a combination of tarmac and white roads. Along the way we will stop in at the Strade Bianche expo to collect registrations for the GF as well give you a chance to wander around and enjoy all that is on offer. On arrival back at La Gallozolle there will be time to join us for wine tasting and a tour followed by dinner.

Today you will be fully emerged in the joy and madness of the Strade Bianche Pro Race. First will take you the team presentation and ‘signing on’. We will then transfer you to watch the pro race on the gravel roads before arriving in plenty of time to enjoy VIP hospitality in Piazza del Campo. Dinner is served in a local restaurant, prepared specifically with tomorrow’s Gran Fondo in mind.

Our mechanics will be on hand to make sure bikes are perfectly tuned and ready to roll. The short ride to the start line is a great way to warm up before taking your place in the starting grid. As ever our staff will be dotted around the route with drinks and nutrition. They are there to offer support, a push and if needed a motivational speech. They will also meet you on the finish line, taking care of your bike while you enjoy the pasta party and festivities that are the finish of the Strade Bianchi Gran Fondo.

Arrivederci!
25km, 330m climb.
This morning we offer you a truly unique and very Italy Bike Tours experience. Staff will be up early to prepare the bikes for what is our sunrise ride. A loop that allows you to maximise your time in Italy as well as the truly wonderful experience of watching the sun slowly rise across the Tuscan landscape. With plenty of time to shower, pack and check out, staff will be on hand to transfer you to your next destination.

Where to meet?	Please arrange to meet us at Florence Aiport at 14:00 or agreed meeting location. 24 hours before meeting we will contact you via WhatsApp to confirm the name of staff meeting you. Alternative transfers can be arranged but will incur a cost.
Drop off Location?	Following the conclusion of the tour we will assist you with planning and booking of onward travel. We will run one transfer to Florence airport leaving in the late morning after our sunsine ride.
Transfer Time	Please consider eating lunch before we collect you from Florence Airport. The transfer time from Florence to Siena is 1:10hrs. We may stop for a fresh coffee along the way. Transfer time La Gallozolle to Siena is 15 minutes (12km) -
Riding in Tuscany	.The riding in Tuscany is never flat. The rolling roads are a mix of 'strade bianche' and tarmac. Guests are advised to inform staff if this is your first time riding in Tuscany as they will be able to offer some advice on best way to 'ride' the white roads.
Cuisine	The food is outstanding in Tuscany. The region is famed for pasta and soups. Restaurants now cater for both vegan and vegetarians. Home made local wines and beer a must to try.
La Gallozolle Facilities	La Gallozolle is a tradional agritourismo (farm house) situated on a working vineyard. The property comprises of 12 aprtments for (1 to 6 people). Breakfast are prepared by IBT staff. Please consider bringing your swimming costumes (pool maybe open). La Gallozolle offers laundry service, good wifi.
Private Tours & Groups	You may wish to make our Strade Bianche package part of a longer cycling trip. We therefore welcome the opportunity to discuss with you a private tour should you be in a group of more than four people. The private tour allows you to choose dates and personalise the itinerary according to your requirements.
Weather	The mountains can be unpredictable and weather may change quickly. This is particularly the case in the afternoons when high pressure builds. Our experienced guides will amend rides, routes and timings to ensure you are riding in safe and hopefully sunny conditions.
